Back to Basics

When things go haywire, it can be a good idea to re-visit the basics of leadership. When I was with a large health care system in the Midwest as the head of leadership development, we designed a comprehensive program to give our leaders all the basic information and tools they might need to be successful in their role. We relied on existing, proven, basic fundamentals of leadership. Leadership development should not be complex. It should be straightforward and simple. I still pull from the program we designed in my consulting practice. Lead yourself, lead others and lead the business. Within these pillars exist self assessment and coaching, communication, change management and operations skill building.

If you are flailing, take a moment to get back to basics. Get grounded in the fundamentals.

Get in touch if you need help.
